Media Engineers are responsible for transforming the capability and flexibility of content acquisition, production, and distribution systems. They manage a wide range of technologies including playout systems, studios, production control rooms, and cloud compute environments. The role focuses on the sustainability of existing technology by resolving escalated incidents and performing system integration projects. Engineers in this position apply their technical knowledge to solve complex issues with minimal supervision. They also handle documentation and preventative engineering tasks to ensure high levels of quality and resiliency.

Candidates must possess at least three years of relevant experience in the sustainment and stability of live media production and distribution environments. A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or an equivalent major is required, though equivalent work experience may be accepted. Proficiency in SMPTE standards and at least one foundational cloud certification are mandatory. Additionally, the role requires the ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and operating aerial lift platforms.
