The Behavioral Health Medical Director for AI Policy & Governance provides clinical leadership to ensure that artificial intelligence tools are designed, validated, and monitored to be safe, ethical, and equitable. This role involves translating enterprise governance requirements into specific clinical guardrails and decision pathways for behavioral health initiatives. The position requires establishing clinical acceptability criteria and overseeing vendor reviews to ensure the viability of proposed AI solutions. The director will monitor clinical performance measures and operational key performance indicators to identify potential risks such as algorithmic bias or unintended consequences. Additionally, the role entails collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate AI into clinical workflows while ensuring data stewardship and privacy standards are maintained.

Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree with board certification in Psychiatry and possess an active, unencumbered license to practice medicine. A minimum of five years of clinical experience following residency or fellowship is required, along with significant experience in behavioral health clinical leadership. Applicants must demonstrate expertise in clinical governance, quality and safety programs, and the implementation of clinical policy. Furthermore, experience in evaluating or implementing AI and analytics tools within a healthcare setting is necessary.
