TI is a core component to these services, managing the data acquisition, integration, and transformation of client provided data for global engagements. Role description: The Manager, Data Engineering on the TI team will lead and participate on data management aspects of client engagements to deliver solutions under the Services group, play a large leadership role in enhancing the automation capabilities of the team, and contribute towards fostering a high-performance collaborative workplace. A Manager will: Manage the process of data delivery on teams by overseeing other Data Engineers to deliver on-time, accurate, high-value, robust data solutions across multiple clients, solutions, and industry sectors Oversee the execution of data projects through design, implementation, automation, and maintenance of large-scale enterprise data and data movement (ETL) processes for a global client base Build trust-based working relationships with peers and clients across local and global teams Leverage and contribute to industry best practices including proper use of source control, code reviews, data validation and testing Enhance big data pipelines using Python, R, SSIS and PowerShell to address complex technical challenges and seamless communication with several cloud storage technologies Leverage new SQL Server features such as Columnstore Indexes, In-Memory OLTP, Incremental statistics, Trace Flags, SQL CLR functions, window aggregate functions, and parallel computing algorithms to reduce the processing time of multi-billion row data sets Play a lead role and oversee the activities of Data Engineers and ensure the efficient execution of their duties. Effectively manage projects by leading efforts such as setting team goals, sprint planning, workplan scoping and assignment, and retrospectives Lead large-scale efforts to improve the automation capabilities of the team. Identify and implement techniques to optimize and routinize repeatable tasks for Test & Learn and other data setups. Collaborate with other teams to further data automation capabilities Constantly seek out new improvements and enhancements to existing data infrastructure, and guide the creation and implementation of critical game-changing enhancements to assist the overall automation goals for the team Act as an expert data and technical resource within the team and region, and provide mentorship and guidance to multiple teams and product areas Act as an advisor/mentor and assist in managing careers for junior team members Lead Services-wide efforts such as recruiting, training, and internal investment areas Work with other Managers, Directors, and team leaders to create and implement the future vision of the team's capabilities and growth across multiple areas and functions within the Services group Comply with and uphold all Mastercard internal policies and external regulations Minimum job requirements: BS/BE/BTech in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Econometrics, Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Finance, Accounting, General Business). Work experience in relevant fields is also sufficient Excellent English quantitative, technical, and communication (oral/written) skills; is an excellent listener Expertise and hands-on experience with RDBMS technologies, and with Microsoft SQL Server Proficiency with at least one scripting language (PowerShell, Python) Proven self-motivated leader with experience working in multiple teams spread across several geographies Demonstrated excellent skills in the ability to innovate, think critically and disaggregate problems. Able to provide oversight, validation and quality control their own and the teams work Demonstrated skills in managing projects, people, and tasks across multiple geographies and business units Ability to easily move between business, data management, and technical teams.
